This webapp takes an Across Lite file (.puz or .txt) and generates a playable crossword puzzle in the browser. You can click on one of the links below to load a rejected puzzle, or you can upload a puzzle you have in an Across Lite format. (Rebus puzzles likely won't work.)
My webapp has an innovative feature I call Reference Highlighting. When you are working on a clue like "See 28-Down" then 28-Down will get highlighted as well and its clue will be displayed. It doesn't take any additional work from you (or the constructor) as long as the reference is made in the conventional way. It even works when a single clue references multiple clues.
The Across Lite format is used by most puzzle constructors across the Web. Maybe you want to download a Brendan Emmitt Quigley puzzle in the Across Lite format and play it here.
Remember that other sites aren't going to have Reference Highlighting in their embedded puzzles. This might be an easier place to play.
